Your child's learning journey will resume when they are back, without losing the benefit of the missed classes.
Please inform us about planned breaks in advance wherever possible. Approved pauses are accounted for when calculating the six-month guarantee period.
Weekend Learning Batches
Our academy currently conducts classes exclusively on weekends, allowing children to balance their school commitments, other activities and personal time. Batch timings and availability are shared during enquiry and confirmed at the time of enrolment.
Regular Progress Updates
Every child learns at their own pace. We believe parents should be part of that learning journey. We provide regular feedback on your child's participation, learning progress, strengths and areas that need more attention. Through meaningful interactions and periodic progress updates, we help parents understand how their child is growing in both thinking skills and values.
MIND progress may include chess concepts, puzzle-solving, planning and logical reasoning. MORAL progress may include understanding stories, identifying values and relating lessons to everyday situations.
More Than Just Learning
Every activity at Mind & Moral Academy is chosen because it develops real, lasting skills in your child.
Improved Concentration
Chess demands sustained focus, training children to stay attentive for longer periods.
Stronger Memory
Remembering positions and patterns builds both short-term and long-term memory.
Logical Reasoning
Every move requires cause-and-effect thinking that transfers to maths and science.
Planning Ahead
Children learn to think multiple steps forward, a skill valuable in all areas of life.
Emotional Regulation
Handling wins and losses gracefully builds resilience and emotional maturity.
Academic Confidence
The discipline and focus developed through chess may support school performance.
Honesty & Integrity
Stories from the Ramayana and Panchatantra teach children the importance of truthfulness and keeping their word.
Courage & Resilience
Tales of Hanuman, Arjuna and Jataka heroes inspire children to face challenges with confidence.
Respect & Gratitude
Stories of devotion and reverence model the values of respect for elders, teachers and others.
Compassion & Kindness
Characters from the Mahabharata and Jataka Tales teach children to be caring and considerate.
Duty & Responsibility
The concept of dharma helps children understand their responsibilities to family and society.
Thoughtful Decision-Making
Discussions around story choices help children think through consequences and make better decisions.
Our approach: We bring these values to life through storytelling, discussion, art and role-play — not lectures. Children internalise values when they experience them through stories they love.
How Chess Helps Young Minds Think, Plan & Grow
Chess is more than a game. It gives children opportunities to practise thinking ahead, recognising patterns, remembering positions and making thoughtful decisions.

Chess classes and executive function skills in 5–6 years old children: evidence from cross-sectional study
Frontiers in Psychology
A study involving 88 children aged 5–6 compared children attending chess classes with those who did not. Children in the chess group achieved higher scores on certain visuospatial working-memory measures. The findings highlight a potential connection between early chess learning and visual-spatial memory skills.
Note: This was a cross-sectional study, so it identifies an association rather than proving that chess caused the difference.
Do the benefits of chess instruction transfer to academic and cognitive skills? A meta-analysis
Educational Research Review (Elsevier / ScienceDirect)
This meta-analysis examined 24 studies involving 2,788 participants in chess groups and 2,433 in control groups. It reported a modest positive overall effect associated with chess instruction, with a stronger average effect for mathematics than reading. The findings suggest that structured chess learning may support skills useful beyond the chessboard.
Note: The authors highlighted methodological limitations in the underlying studies. The findings should be interpreted as encouraging evidence rather than proof of guaranteed academic improvement.
A study of the influence of chess on the Executive Functions in school-aged children
Studies in Psychology (SAGE Publications)
This research examined two important executive functions: planning and cognitive flexibility. Researchers compared children who played chess with children who did not. Chess-playing children demonstrated better performance on the planning assessment, with some differences in cognitive flexibility also favouring the chess-playing group.
Note: The study compared chess-playing and non-chess-playing children; it does not establish that chess alone caused these differences.
Beyond the Chessboard
At Mind & Moral Academy, we make learning chess an engaging experience where children practise planning, analysing, recognising patterns and making thoughtful decisions. Through structured, age-appropriate lessons, we aim to nurture curious minds, confident thinkers and a lifelong love of learning.
